about GRIT:
GRIT Athletics Inc. is a Christian-based, nonprofit corporation formed in the fall of 2008 and inspired by our son, brother, friend, and super competitor, Nicholas Greenwood. (May 17, 2002 – May 22, 2008)The term Grit started as just another word for toughness. While learning the sport of wrestling on their living room floor, Nicholas and his two older brothers unknowingly developed mental and physical toughness, along with adding a much richer meaning to GRIT. At the Greenwood home, GRIT stands for Grace, Righteousness, Intensity, and Toughness. These four things are a great description of how Nicholas lived his life: accepting God’s grace, striving to live a righteous life, and displaying great intensity and toughness in anything he did. GRIT Athletics integrates these characteristics with a Christian perspective in all their programs. GRIT Athletics Inc. looks at life as a race. There is a finish line, at which point life truly begins. For some, the race is long and requires endurance, while for others, the race is a short, powerful sprint. We want to see people of all ages to develop that power and endurance, along with other life skills, to help clear hurdles during their life race, learning to abide in God, not run alone, and run the race with GRIT!
